Brooklyn Chats Series hosted by Patrick Sauer
Featuring Richard Esposito, author of Jimmy Breslin: The Man Who Told The Truth
Tickets $10
Brooklyn Chats is a new series of author talks hosted by Patrick Sauer (co-host of the Squawkin' Sports series), with a focus on books you may have missed the first time around, often with a connection to our beloved borough. At tonight's event, Sauer talks with Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter Richard Esposito about his biography of the legendary newspaperman and quintessential New Yorker Jimmy Breslin, the "Big Man" of 20th century journalism. In a newspaper career spanning decades, Breslin covered the stories that he knew mattered most, the human stories beyond the front page -- and the writer's life was as fascinating as any of his subjects. Esposito, a former colleague of Breslin, talks about his experiences and interviews with countless of his former coworkers, friends, and enemies, to create meticulous and revealing portrait of a complex man who bared his soul to the world in column inches.
Ticketholders enjoy complementary drinks curated by Heritage Wines. Books available for preorder or onsite purchase. Book signing to follow.
