For nearly 20 years, NYC's Brook Pridemore has made a point to stop in Rhinelander on Midwest tours. Basements. Bars. Barns. We're thrilled to welcome them back to Rhinelander, only this time at Artstart! Come on out on Labor Day! Your donations will help Brook stay on the road and help Artstart continue to bring interesting and musically diverse artists right here to Rhinelander. The show begins at 5pm with local songwriter Brett Albertson (Cementshoes) opening. Here's what Brook had to say: "Alternately like Jonathan Richman fronting Sunn O))) or like Grimes on food stamps, Brooklyn-based songwriter Brook Pridemore is always on the road and currently touring in support of their 7th album, Glad to be Alive. Produced by Ben Hozie of New York art punks Bodega, Glad to be Alive is simultaneously funny and tragic, uplifting and cathartic. Between gigs, Pridemore is usually talking about French cinema and is currently putting the finishing touches on their 8th album, Only I Can Prevent Forest Fires."
