AKA the Wuthering Heights walk - an 8.5-mile / 14km moderate, circular walk from the village of Haworth in West Yorkshire. The Bronte sisters wrote many of their novels and poetry whilst living in Haworth Parsonage and the Haworth Moors gave them much of their inspiration. This route takes us across those moors, following some of the Bronte Way, visiting the Bronte Waterfall and Top Withins (the setting for Wuthering Heights). This pretty walk is undulating (total elevation approx. 1,100ft / 330m, with several long climbs and descents, including a short steep uphill section. There are a number of kissing gates and a squeeze stile, plus some stepping stones across a stream. The terrain is varied with moorland paths, boggy bits and some paved sections. As always walking boots with good grip are recommended.
This walk is expected to take approx. 4 and a half hours with rest breaks.
Well behaved, agile dogs are welcome, but will need to be on leads for the majority of this walk.
Children aged approx. 8+ are welcome.
Places are limited and cost £15 per person. We specialise in small-group guided walks, always led by a professional qualified mountain leader, with outdoor first aid and public liability.
Further information, kit list and meeting details will be emailed to you prior to the event, once you have booked. Please refer to our Terms and Conditions and GDPR Privacy notice before booking.
