Written and performed by Ian and Louise Kirk, this haunting, heart-led performance gives voice to those once silenced. Through original songs written and sung by a mother whose baby was illegally taken during the 1970s forced adoption era, it lays bare the grief, love, and unbreakable bond between mother and child.Supported by a live ensemble, her story intertwines with spoken truths from an adoptee who led the WA Parliamentary Inquiry and the lived experience of an Indigenous adoptee. The performance culminates in a deeply moving song created and performed collectively by mothers and adopted people.
