The Royal National Children’s SpringBoard Foundation invites you to join colleagues from Local Authorities and Reed's School to gain a deeper insight into the Broadening Educational Pathways Programme.
The Broadening Educational Pathways programme supports children in and on the edge of care into an independent day or boarding school place when it is the right educational option for them and/or can lend stability to young people’s homelives. RNCSF do this by leveraging bursary funding and, since being awarded our DfE contract in 2020, have supported >200 young people into their next schools where they have thrived, and subsequently permittied local authorities to make real time/invest to save efficiencies in spending.
“[the government will expand] support to the Broadening Educational Pathways (BEP) programme to support children in care into independent schools. This includes both encouraging many more children in care to attend those schools and also to receive targeted support from independent school outreach programmes - activities such as mentoring, sporting and cultural enrichment opportunities, as well as coaching to support post-18 pathways.” Stable Homes, Built on Love – 2023
This event aims to bring together Local Authority colleagues in an independent school envrionment in order to highlight the potential advantages for Care-Experienced Young People through round table discussion, a Q&A session, talks and a tour of the school and its facilities. It is an opportunity for Continuing Professional Development as you network with colleagues over lunch to discuss best practice, to learn more about the work of RNCSF, and how to support your children to access this opportunity. Crucially, you’ll hear from professionals and RNCSF Alumni with experience of the programme.
If you like spoilers, you can read about the programme in our Broadening Educational Pathways Impact Paper.
