About this Event

Historical musicologist Kwaku's mashup video documentary covers 500 years of Africans in Britain and the engagement of black music in dealing with Afriphobia, racism, and apartheid. It also reflects on the music industry's programmes that sprung up to deal with racism in the aftermath of the Afriphobic M**der of George Floyd. This screening will allow us to consider, with the help of a panel, whether the music industry has gone forward or back since 2020.

Panelists include

Paul Bradshaw: former publisher/editor of Straight No Chaser magazine, a freelance writer, and music/cultural consultant.

Hakeem Stevens: founder of Access All Areas seminars, music marketing consultant, and music business lecturer.
