Celebrating British Curry Day this year with 50th anniversary of Bangladesh Independence will showcase the contribution and integration of the both country and the pioneers that have creating national’s favourite food.

“ British Curry Day campaign is about both celebrating the past and the present. The current phenomenon that is British curry and its culinary prowess and wide-reaching influence on British society, to the culture-defining story of its history. We now export curry to India and it’s down to our forefathers, the true curry pioneers. British Curry Day is a tribute to them “ – Founder Enam Ali MBE FIH

British Curry Day, Bristol Ambassador - High Sheriff of Bristol, Mrs S J Davies BEM said:

“It is such a brilliant idea to celebrate with a national Curry Day. Curry is now one of the nation's favourite dishes and linking this with Independence Day is perfect - as most of the cuisine we know so well was brought to Britain from Bangladesh.

“But not only is this a day of celebration for Bangladeshis and their wonderful food, but dozens of restaurants across the region are also raising money for local charities making this a valuable event in so many ways."

This year British Curry Day will be celebrated on 1st Dec 2021. As part of the celebration and in the memory of Curry pioneers we will doing following activity

1. Tree Planting. We will be planting 1500 saplings on 1st December in partnership with One Tree Per Child and Plastic Pollution Awareness & Action project. To volunteer, Please register your interest [email protected]

2. We will be donating £1 for every Chicken Tikka Masalla Sold during the month of December to local charity nominated by #Asking Bristol. Over 30 Restaurant and take are taking parts and if you would like to join us, please email [email protected] hopefully this will be replicated in North Somerset, Dorset, Wiltshire, Oxfordshire and Warwickshire.
