FREE Workshop“I Shine BRIGHT” Zine Making is a creative and welcoming introduction to the BRIGHT program designed especially for autistic and neurodiverse girls. This 90-minute session provides a safe, supportive space where participants can meet peers, express themselves, and explore their strengths through art and storytelling.
During the workshop, girls will learn about zines—small handmade booklets used for sharing ideas, stories, art, and personal experiences. Each participant will create their own “I Shine BRIGHT” zine, using drawings, words, colors, and collage to celebrate who they are, what they enjoy, and what makes them unique.
In addition to the zine-making activity, BRIGHT Connections offers several activity stations that allow participants to engage at their own pace and according to their interests.
Stations include:
Sensory Station – calming tools and tactile materials to support comfort and regulation
Game Station – simple, inclusive games that encourage social interaction and fun
Movement Station – opportunities for light movement to support energy release and focus
Participants are welcome to explore these stations freely, allowing for choice-based participation and sensory-friendly engagement.
This event is not a drop-off program. Parents or caregivers are asked to remain on-site.
The session focuses on connection, creativity, and confidence. Activities are designed using neurodiversity-affirming and autism-inclusive practices, including clear structure, visual supports, and flexible participation.
By the end of the workshop, each participant will leave with a personalized zine that reflects their strengths, interests, and individuality, along with a sense of belonging within the BRIGHT community.
