Beau Bridges
Emmy, Golden Globe, and Grammy-winning Actor
Beau Bridges has appeared in over fifty feature films, including “The Landlord”, “The Other Side of the Mountain”, “Norma Rae”, “Heart Like a Wheel”, “The Wizard”, “Jerry Maguire”, “Sordid Lives”, “Max Payne”, “The Descendants”, “One Night in Miami”, “Dreamin’ Wild”, “The Neon Highway” and “Camera”, opposite his son Ezekiel. His daughter, Emily, directed him in the film, “Acting the First Six Lessons” based on the play they wrote together. He was recently seen on television in “Greenleaf”, “Homeland”, “Messiah”, “Goliath”, and “Lessons In Chemistry”, which was recently nominated for an Emmy Award. He co-stars in the new CBS series Matlock, opposite Kathy Bates. On Broadway he appeared in “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying”.
Beau received the Best Supporting Actor Award from the National Society of Film Critics for “The Fabulous Baker Boys”, opposite his brother Jeff. In television, Bridges has received sixteen Emmy nominations and won three, along with two Golden Globes, for “Without Warning: The James Brady Story”, “The Positively True Adventures of the Alleged Texas Cheerleader-Murdering Mom” and “The Second Civil War.” He won a 2009 Grammy for narrating Al Gore’s “An Inconvenient Truth”.
Beau was inspired by his father Lloyd to work towards promoting and preserving a healthy planet. He continues to be an environmental activist. He is on the board of World Youth Clubs, whose global mission is to empower youth advancement in a safe environment. Beau has 5 adult children, 6 grandchildren and a French bulldog named Buster. He and his wife Wendy have been married for over 40 years.
