In collaboration with Eli Lilly and Company and Women in Cyber Security UK & Ireland, join us for an insightful discussion on building a successful career in cybersecurity. We will explore key pathways to entering the industry, address the growing skills gap, and examine the gender gap's impact on the field. Our expert panel will share their experiences, offer practical advice on breaking into the industry, and highlight the importance of fostering diversity to shape the future of cybersecurity.

You’ll also have the unique opportunity to speak with members of Lilly’s cyber leadership and technology recruiting teams to learn about technology and cybersecurity roles in Ireland!

Whether you're a seasoned practitioner, are new to cybersecurity or are looking to transition into the field, this session will provide valuable insights and opportunities for networking with industry leaders.

Featured Speaker:

Ash Edmondson, AVP of Security Architecture and Engineering, Lilly

Ash Edmondson is a seasoned cybersecurity leader specializing in cloud and AI security. With expertise across several cyber domains, she has built diverse, skilled teams to tackle some of the hardest consumer-facing and enterprise cybersecurity challenges. Ash has spoken at many major cybersecurity conferences, including twice at BlackHat and the keynote at AWS Re:Inforce, and was recognized by the US Congress for her contributions to increasing representation of women and minorities in cybersecurity.

Ash is dedicated to discovering, nurturing, and supporting the next generation of cybersecurity talent. Beyond her professional pursuits, she is passionate about animal rescue and marine conservation.


Dr Anila Mjeda, Lecturer of Computer Science at Munster Technological University (MTU)

Dr Anila Mjeda is a Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science at Munster Technological University (Cork Campus). She began her academic career as a Theoretical Physicist and, driven by her passion for modelling complex systems, earned first-class honours in both her BSc and MSc in Computer Science, the latter awarded on a full scholarship for being the top student in the School of Sciences.

In 2013, Dr Mjeda completed her PhD in Safety-Critical Systems at the University of Limerick and holds an MA in Teaching in Higher Education from the same institution (2020). She is a frequently invited speaker at panels and conferences and is part of the Cyber Skills project.

Dr Mjeda’s research covers a broad range of cybersecurity topics within software, including secure software development, application security, and malware analysis. Additionally, her interests extend to quantum software, autonomous systems, and innovations in software engineering education.


James Belmont, Global Talent Acquisition Partner @ TikTok

James Belmont is a Global Recruitment Partner at TikTok, where he hires top sales, operations, and strategic talent across the globe for one of the most exciting start-ups in the last 10+ years! After transitioning from a military career, James dove into recruitment, working across nearly every discipline—from finance and tech to media and marketing —partnering with some of the world’s most exciting brands along his career journey, including Dell Technologies and GroupM (the worlds largest media agency!). Since moving into recruitment, James has been passionate about shaping teams that are truly diverse, challenging leaders to think differently in new and traditional roles. James loves what he does; discussing career growth and development, giving interview tips and insight, and helping people find what they love to do.

When he's not recruiting, you’ll find him writing and in 2023, he self-published his first book, LIFEline.

Agata Crowley, Community Lead for Ireland, Women in Cyber Security UK & Ireland Affiliate

Agata Crowley is an aspiring data security professional with a strong belief that cybersecurity is synonymous with data security. Drawing inspiration from several frameworks, particularly Data Security Posture Management (DSPM), she is convinced that data security, though still an emerging trend, will shape the future of the cybersecurity landscape. Agata graduated from Jagiellonian University with a Master’s degree in Social Care and her work was published as a book in 2010 by Impuls Krakow under the title "Social and Emotional Life of Elderly People" (translated). She furthered her education in Ireland with a Higher Diploma in Leadership from the Technological University of Shannon and a Management Diploma from University College Cork. Actively involved with Women in Cybersecurity (WiCyS) UK & Ireland, Agata believes that belonging to a community fosters a sense of identity and is a fundamental human need.
