Bag Drop
Bag Drops are only available for the Ultra Marathon 60km event. These can be left at Race Pack Pick Up, the days before the event. These will be picked up from Race Pack Pick Up at noon on the Friday before the event. These will then be sorted and taken to the Food Stations.
The Drop Bags MUST be sealed and clearly marked with:
Name
EventRace Number
Location of Bag to be taken too
E,g: Joe Bloggs, 60km, Number 100, Location ***
If you are dropping off a bag, please make sure this is sealed and nothing is loose and will fall out, as we don’t want anything falling out as we will have a large number of these at Aid Stations.
No paper or plastic bags can be used for bag drops. If you are putting frozen items in your back drop, please make sure that this is sealed and will not thaw out and leak. "Other competitors don't necessarily want to taste your coconut milk etc."
Please note; that there are No Bag Drops the morning of the event.
Support teams will be allowed to be at the last 3 Food Stations to support competitors and feed them. No support people will be able to be at the 15km mark for safety reasons, as the competitors are running along the road and we do not want any traffic on this road.
If support people feed a competitor at Downs Road 30km Mark, they then have to leave going back out to South Eyre Road. If they then want to feed their runner at Harrs Road Stop Bank they will have to come back into this mark from South Eyre Road. No traffic is to be on the road the runners are using.
Toilet Requirements - Poo Bags
What you take into the run you must bring back out, this includes faeces, it a toilet on route is not used. There are porta-loos and toilets at the feed stations.
If you need to go to the toilet before you reach one of these, you will need a poo bag (best you calculate how often you believe you will need to go during the event and have sufficient bags). We would hate to see some of our native birds to be choking on some of your finest or the Waimakariri River getting polluted.
Thank you for this anwe recommend you check out the following link for some great helpful tips https://www.wildwalks.co.nz/Wild-Walks/Walks-FAQ-s/Advice-and-Information/Human-Waste-Disposal.aspx
