Help Save CR Heritage cross the finish line as we revitalize the historic Zastera Pharmacy building! With your generosity and that of the Hall-Perrine Foundation, our all-volunteer nonprofit purchased this 1920s brick building in northwest Cedar Rapids last summer. ❤ We've been fortunate to receive other wonderful grants and now just need help on the final work that will allow us to open the building as an architectural salvage shop & community hub: HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems. Fun stuff, yes, we know! 😉 If you missed out last summer, donors of $100 or more will receive a brick with a Czech connection – from the Sykora Bakery auction in Czech Village – to pay tribute to the building's first owner, the son of Bohemian immigrants. Your name will also be included on our website and donor wall at the shop. As an added bonus, donors at that level or more will be invited to an exclusive sneak preview before the grand opening! This event coincides with our monthly salvage sale of vintage doors, windows and more, rescued from homes slated for demolition, with proceeds benefiting the building revitalization. Every dollar makes a difference as we work to breathe new life into the historic Time Check neighborhood!
