About this Event

About the class...

Pre-paid tickets are required...we do not allow walk-ins...we are not open to the public.

Space is limited. Generally 8-10 per class.

Brew classes are hands-on: We will be brewing this beer together and you will be brewing on one of our brewing rigs as part of a small team.

We will walk you through all the steps. Please wear clothes you won't mind getting a little dirty. The class lasts about 3+ hrs and we start on time. There is lots of time for socializing and learning as there are many natural breaks.

Please remain vigilant around brewing equipment. We want to keep everyone safe.

Note: Covid, RSV, and the flu are still around. If you think you are sick, please do not come! We offer a 24-hour in advance full refund. Let's keep everyone safe.

If You Have A Pre-Paid Voucher...

If you pre-purchased a class voucher, you can use it for this class, if terms apply.

Please make a normal ticket purchase including add-ons to secure your seat. In the comments of this order, please enter: the voucher order number, your last name, and your email. We will then refund the order for this class in the amount covered by the pre-paid voucher...this takes 48-72 hours.

Snacks during class / Take home items...

Snacks during the class are available and can be purchased as add-on items to your ticket. All of our snack items are made in-house in a food-handling-certified kitchen.

Beer samples: These are available during the class at no cost and we will also discuss beer pairings with food.

Our Store: In addition to the items listed as add-ons, we operate a small online store. We offer discounts on classes, sundries, and other items available for pickup during our classes: www.dahoam1516.com/shop

Note:

  • We do not allow outside food or alcohol due to sanitation considerations. If you have a concern, please get in touch with us and we will discuss accommodations.
  • We do not sell nor allow our beers offsite, but we "sample" very liberally.
  • We require positive age verification (21+) for anyone sampling the beers.
  • You may attend the class but cannot drink if you are under 21. We offer many non-alcoholic options.

About what we are brewing...

Dietersdunkel / Dunkelweizen (Dark Wheat Beer)-- This is a traditional wheat beer with additional darker malts for color and body. It's perfect for late spring, all summer, and early fall.

About the Host/Instructor...

The Founder of Dahoam1516, Master Chef, and Braumeister, Hans is dedicated to keeping the finest Bavarian cuisine and traditions accessible to anyone here locally.

Hans attended culinary classes in Bavaria and the United States. He has worked at several restaurants and operates a small home-based catering service and Brewhouse.

How to find us...

We are just 1.5 blocks from the main public transit route: Stanton St stop serves

  • AC Transit Transbay "O" from Salesforce Transit Center
  • AC Transit Line "51A" from downtown Oakland, Park St., and Fruitvale BART

There is also ample parking along Lincoln Ave.

At the corner of Lincoln Ave & Powers Ct, you will see our signs and Friendship Garden. Follow the garden walkway down Powers Ct to the Red Gate. The large flag pole with the Bavarian and Alameda flags is a good marker. The gate opens about 10 minutes before class.
