A night of sonically diverse, folk-rooted music, ranging from Makiisma’s stoner doom-folk flair, led by a five-string electric violin, to the psychedelic influences of Brett Cassidy and The Corduroy Cowboys. 9PM until late. $15 cover.https://www.brettcassidymusic.com/
Brett Cassidy is a Calgary, AB-based multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and producer, who spent the past decade honing his songwriting in bands across Western Canada before stepping into the spotlight on his own. Based where the prairies meet the Rocky Mountains, Cassidy’s solo work reflects a deep connection to place, community, and the quiet momentum of everyday life. Drawing from classic country, traditional folk, and the textural edges of indie-psych rock, his songs balance structure and looseness, inviting listeners into something familiar but still open-ended.

Makiisma is a violin-led alt-folk force whose music moves effortlessly between intimacy and intensity. Led by Makiisma’s songwriter, violinist, and vocalist Megan Brown, the trio blends haunting vocals, soulful violin, and heavy, riff-driven arrangements into songs marked by unexpected harmonic turns and dramatic dynamic shifts. Rooted in classical training yet fueled by a love for raw, expressive music, Makiisma describes her sound as a marriage of doom-folk and alt-rock, defined by its shadowy beauty and emotional weight. Live, Makiisma leads the band on a five string electric violin processed through pedals and an amp to occupy the role traditionally held by guitar.
