Lake Rotopounamu was chosen for this gathering because of its extraordinary spiritual significance on Earth. Our planet holds four great vortices โ two yang centres north of the equator, regulating the masculine forces of fire and air; and two yin centres in the southern hemisphere, embodying the feminine elements of water and earth.
The second great elemental vortex of the southern hemisphere flows here, at Lake Rotopounamu โ a small, hidden jewel just south of Lake Taupล in Aotearoa. This sacred lake spirals in an anti-clockwise direction, carrying the waters of transformation, renewal, and the pulse of the Earthโs feminine current.
Locally, Rotopounamu is known as the second chakra of Mt. Pihanga, the female mountain and consort of Mt. Tongariro. From their union flows the fruit of life itself, carried through the waters of Rotopounamu, advancing the adventure of creation throughout the world.
According to Mฤori understanding, this lake is the resting place of the second emerald stone โ the first being anchored at Glastonbury Tor. These two stones, antipodean to each other, form the poles of the Grail Net: the planetary web of ley lines, or dragon lines, that connect sacred sites across the globe. When Rotopounamu awakens, the heart of the worldโs water vortex system stirs, radiating love through the grid of creation.
Where Table Mountain holds the quality of light, Rotopounamu embodies the quality of love. And just as the speed of light multiplied by itself equals the velocity of love, this lake teaches that the highest use of light is compassion, and the deepest gift of love is the expansion of everlasting life.
Twice each year, at the Pisces New Moon (February/March) and the Pisces Full Moon (August/September), this vortex reaches its peak alignment. These are the portals when the lake becomes most powerful in advancing Earthโs purpose and amplifying the consciousness of all who gather here.
To enter this space in union with breath, water, and moon is to stand at the heart of the Earthโs body, where love itself is breathed into being.

We are coming to this sacred site, Lake Rotopounamu, with the breath as our sacred tool. Through conscious breathing, we soften the mind and body, moving from beta into alpha states of awareness. In these altered states of consciousness, our channels open. We become attuned to the elemental vortex of the lake, the presence of the unseen elementals, and the vast grids of the universe โ the ley lines of the Earth.
This is what is known as grid work. Grid work is the intentional practice of connecting with the energetic matrix of the Earth โ the invisible lattice of ley lines, vortex points, and power centers that form the planetโs subtle body. Just as the human body has meridians and chakras, so too does the Earth.
When we gather at a sacred site and breathe consciously, we are not only receiving its frequency; we are also anchoring, transmitting, and harmonizing energy. Through our hearts, breath, and intention, we act as living conduits between Heaven and Earth โ clearing blockages, amplifying love, and weaving our own energetic signatures into the planetary grid.
This work is important because the Earth is evolving. Each time a group comes together in presence, breath, and ceremony, the collective field strengthens. New codes and frequencies are seeded into the grid; old patterns are dissolved. Grid work at a sacred site like Rotopounamu helps restore balance to the planetary body while simultaneously activating the subtle body of every participant.
In essence, grid work is both a personal and planetary service. We are not only transformed by the site; we become part of its living story, helping anchor higher states of consciousness into the Earth for the benefit of all beings.
