Dogs: We love our furry friends, but for the comfort and safety of all guests, pets are not permitted at the event. Service animals are always welcome.
Parking: there is ample free parking space at Bingemans in the front lots
What’s happening at this year’s Waterloo Walk?
Family Fun Zone: Packed with activities everyone will love — from colourful face painting and balloon twisting to creative button making and you can even make your own slime to take home!
Awesome Action: Be sure to check out Waterloo Kung-Fu Academy, demonstrations and live wood breaking, with a special guest appearance!
Snacks: Pre-packaged snacks and beverages will be available at the event for you to enjoy. Don’t forget to bring your water bottle to stay hydrated on the route!
Mini Golf: The fun doesn’t end at the finish line! Join us after your walk for a game on the 9-hole mini golf course and enjoy some friendly competition with your fellow walkers.
Route: Please note that this is a well maintained, but unpaved trail, so the surface may be uneven. Plan ahead with proper footwear and gear! As the path is on a trail, there are some areas that are narrower and there are areas with exposed roots, we recommend those that are looking at bringing strollers ensure they are all terrain models designed for outdoor use. Wheelchairs and accessibility aids are not recommended.
Breakthrough T1D Walk is a high-energy, family-friendly event where you’ll meet others who "just get it.” Expect smiles, team spirit, and a whole lot of heart. The Walk is more than just an event – it's a celebration of the type 1 diabetes (T1D) community, where families, volunteers, and supporters come together to help make every day better for those living with type 1 diabetes.
