Name: Breaking Bad Poetry Indy Qualifier

This will be a winner take all competiton to decide MainStreet Art and Culture Slam's Indy representative to BOTH the BlackBerry Peach National Poetry Slam taking place in Kansas City Kansas this July 23-26 and the Southern Fried Poetry Slam Festival Indy Competition taking place this June 9-13 in Orlando Florida.
The competition will be as follows:
Up to 10 poets will do two poems. First round will be random draw while the second round will be high score first to low score last. The top 4 poets will advance to a clean slate final round with a redraw to determine the order. High score in last round wins. In case of tie, we'll add in the scores from the first two rounds. If there's still a tie, there will be unscored rounds until a champion emerges.
Winner in last round gets EVERYTHING and is the official 2026 MainStreet Art and Culture Slam Indy Champion. The prize is as follows:
$250; a berth to the 2026 BlackBerry Peach National Poetry Slam; a $250 in-competition stipend payable after the first round in KCK; a berth to the Southern Fried Poetry Slam Festival Indy Competition, including dues paid if needed.
This slam may also be used as an audition to select one or more team members for the Breaking Bad Poetry National team. That selection is at the discretion of the event organizer.
