Kick off Audubon’s Birdathon fundraiser with a fun morning of birding and breakfast. Join Audubon staff and volunteers as they make a delicious pancake breakfast to go with a morning at the birdfeeders and birding walk. Each year, teams of birders count birds and raise money to fund the Ryan Exline Memorial Scholarship and to provide ongoing care and habitat improvements for Audubon’s Animal Ambassadors. Running April 25 – May 3, 2026, birders of all skills and abilities can find a birding buddy and sign up as a team where people can pledge online to support your birding efforts.
At this kick off breakfast, there will be a short bird program and some tips and tricks for those hard to identify birds. Come anytime from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. for breakfast and birding at the feeders. The program will start at 10:00 a.m. with a short walk to follow, if weather permits. Bring your own binoculars. There will also be some available to borrow.
For more information about participating in the Birdathon as a birder or a donor, visit auduboncnc.org/birdathon-2026.
Bring a little bit of extra cash with you to participate in a basket raffle to win a birding basket full of bird books and supplies for adults and children alike.
