Alex Marsh leads the UK business of Klarna, the Swedish bank and global shopping and payments disrupter - and the market leading provider of buy now pay later in the UK with a consumer base of over 18 million.

Prior to this, Alex held senior leadership positions over 10 years at Close Brothers, the UK merchant banking group, including Managing Director of consumer payments start-up Close Brothers Retail Finance - recipients of the Best New Business Launch at the Corporate Entrepreneur Awards 2016 and winners at The National Business Awards in 2017 & 2018.

In 2019 Alex led the sale of this business to Klarna.

Alex is a Chartered Accountant from qualifying & practicing with PwC in London & Sydney and alongside his role at Klarna is now a trustee, advisor & volunteer for a number of education related charities. In 2020 Alex co-founded Charterpath with friend and former colleague Alice Clementi, with a mission to inspire more accountants to volunteer their time and expertise to help non-profit organisations.
