✨ Who is this for? ✨
If you're familiar with the basics of zouk and want to continue exploring this amazing dance, then this course is for you! The course is designed for people that have previously taken iDance's progressive beginner's course in zouk once or twice. You're of course qualified if you have equivalent knowledge from courses outside iDance.
In practice this means knowing the basic step, lateral, as well as some of the other basics of zouk, such as Soltinho, Viradinha, Simple turn, Bonus and Yoyo. You also know some body movement such as Elastico or Body roll.
🔥 Who is teaching? 🔥
Thérèce, Sonia & Johannes is teaching this course. We're Stockholm Zouk Zone, we have been teaching zouk in Stockholm since 2017 and we started teaching courses at iDance in January 2025. We follow the methodology and course content laid out by zouk masters Bruno & Raiza Galhardo, and Thérèce is a certified zouk instructor by them.
We focus on the technique needed for mastering advanced zouk movements that we're building towards, while not forgetting the fun and playfulness that brought us to zouk in the first place.

We'll rotate partners during the lessons. You don't need a dance partner to register.
If you're going to the course with a fixed dance partner and don't want to rotate partners, then that's also fine.
🇧🇷 About Brazilian Zouk 🇧🇷
Brazilian zouk is a latin couple dance that originated in Brazil during the early 1990s. The dance is soft and sensual, and is characterized by a mixture of playful footwork, fluid body movements and body isolations, as well as head movements for followers.
💃 Zouk at iDance 💃
- We're having a free zouk lesson on Friday March 27th, if you feel like trying it out before signing up. Continuation level 17:20, beginner level 18:40 (same place, same time, one week before the course starts).
- There's also a progressive beginner's course in Brazilian zouk on Fridays, that has no prerequisite skills in zouk (18:40 - 19:55).
- Zouk socials on iDance every other Friday.
