Come out and try Brazilian Zouk for the first time or improve your Brazilian Zouk skills! Our Monday classes offer options for those new to this dance and for those with more experience. Each class includes that night's practica where you can practice with other students and our instructors.
WHAT: Brazilian Zouk Lessons
Welcome to Brazilian Zouk (7:15-8:15pm) w/ Rotating Teachers
Learn some of the basic steps and lead/follow technique for Brazilian Zouk - no experience or partner necessary. This beginner-friendly class will get you dancing right away whether you're new to social dance or you've been dancing for awhile. Drop-ins are welcome any week, but we start a new cycle on the first Monday of every month and cover a set of fundamentals each month.
Conditioning for Dancers (7:15-8:15pm) w/ Julissa
This 1-hour workout is designed specifically for zouk and lambada dancers, and open to anyone who wants to build strength, mobility, and control to support their dancing. Using only your bodyweight, we’ll explore a fusion of ballet fundamentals, Horton technique, and functional conditioning. Expect core work, balance challenges, turns, and mobility drills that will not only strengthen your body but also make your dancing feel lighter, more fluid, and more grounded. Whether you’re looking to enhance your posture, improve your stamina, or refine the way your body supports partnerwork, this class will give you the tools to move with more freedom, inner strength, and ease on the dance floor.
Fundamentals Variations (8:30-9:30pm) w/ Rotating Teachers
Develop your dance by learning variations of fundamentals. This partner class for people who are comfortable with Brazilian zouk basics will help you take your dancing to the next level. We'll focus on lead/follow technique as well as fun variations you can use in your social dancing.
Practica (9:30-11 am)
Practice what you've learned in a safe environment - lights on, and you're free to ask questions of each other and instructors.
