Experience the vibrant, irresistible swing of Bembolado, the Los Angeles–based samba band founded and led by Brazilian musician and composer Fabio Santana. This dynamic ensemble brings together rich samba percussion, a tight and expressive horn section, and soulful vocals to capture the essence of Rio de Janeiro’s classic ballroom dance sound.
Rooted in the tradition of samba de gafieira (a partner dance), Bembolado blends the elegance and rhythmic drive of this beloved style with fresh influences from jazz, funk, and MPB. The result is a sound that is both timeless and contemporary—perfect for dancers and music lovers alike.
Known for their high-energy live performances, Bembolado has become a staple of the Southern California Brazilian music and dance scene, lighting up stages and dance floors with infectious grooves and sophisticated arrangements. Their repertoire features inspired interpretations of classics by artists such as Elis Regina, Zeca Pagodinho, Seu Jorge, Copa 7, Maria Rita, Martinha o da Vila, and Club do Balanço, and alongside other arrangements that showcase the band’s unique voice.
