Duet Paty & Leo is the inspired collaboration between two exceptional Brazilian artists whose musical bond began as teenagers at a music university in Brazil—she, a sixteen-year-old vocalist already winning international competitions; he, a seventeen-year-old guitarist performing alongside top Brazilian artists.
Years later, after performing around the world—Paty earning a Latin Grammy nomination and Leo completing a master’s in Guitar Performance and touring Europe with the Utah State Jazz Orchestra—they reunited to form Duet Paty & Leo, a duo that blends the sophistication of jazz with the soul of Brazil.
For this concert at The Merc, the duo expands into a quartet, joined by:
Marcelo Bucater (drums) – Drum Department Chair at the Los Angeles College of Music, known for his work with Marcos Valle, Céu, and Arthur Verocai.
Arthur de Palla (bass) – A seasoned performer who has shared stages with Djavan, Carlinhos Brown, and Ivete Sangalo.
