Join us in 2026 for our year-long film series REEL REBELS. We’ll be screening films known for their renegade characters, including stories about underdogs fighting the odds, lonely voices crying to be heard, and moviemakers struggling to share their vision. REEL REBELS showcases works from across the globe that prove that movies will always be a home for nonconformists, dissenters, and rebels. The series continues in May with Terry Gillam's BRAZIL. 𝗧𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗮𝘁 countytheater.org/specials𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗲: Set in a retro dystopic future where society lives in an authoritarian state made up of whimsical technology. A low level government employee meets the woman of his literal dreams and becomes an enemy of the state. BRAZIL is Terry Gilliam as his most wildly imaginative and satirical, blending aspects of Orwell, Kafka and Fellini into a rebellious critique of bureaucracy and totalitarianism.
