About this Event
Brave, Bold & Bonkers
International Women's Day
Three amazing women, each share their journey, as we celebrate #IWD.
Wise Words That Have Helped Me Be Brave, with Rin Hamburgh
Rin Hamburgh knows a thing or two about making brave choices. She set up her copywriting agency as a single mum of 9-month-old twins, grew her team to nine people through the pandemic, and in 2024 set off on a year-long campervan adventure around Europe and Africa. Last year she closed the business to follow her dreams into her next chapter. In this session, Rin will share the words of wisdom that have guided her - from daily mantras to ancient philosophical proverbs- and encourage you to make brave choices for yourself.
Go Bold: Keeping On Track Professionally When Life Has Other Ideas, with Sarah Woodhouse
Sarah Woodhouse is co-owner and director of AMBITIOUS, a strategic communications, PR, and content agency recognised in The Sunday Times Best Places to Work and PR Week’s Top 150 B2B Agencies. Before AMBITIOUS, she co-owned impactasia, a PR network spanning three offices across China- a business she successfully sold to WPP just six years after taking part-ownership in her mid-twenties. Alongside her professional journey, Sarah navigated selling a business with a newborn baby while going through a divorce far from her family support. Fourteen years on, she’ll share the insights and resilience required to keep moving professionally when life throws you curveballs.
Jump In and Don’t Look Back: How Teamwork Got Our Motley Crew Across the English Channel, with Helene Jewell
Helene is the owner and director of Jewell Facilitation, an organisational development and facilitation consultancy. She helps teams and organisations communicate, collaborate, and thrive. When she’s not at work, she’s probably swimming - last year she swam across the English Channel as part of a six-person relay team! Helene will share the highs and lows of this bonkers feat and reveal what it taught her about teamwork, resilience, and navigating pressure in business and life.
Food
Taking time out of busy lives to come together for unrushed conversation and shared food is an important part of International Women’s Day. We’re incredibly grateful to our sponsors, The Glos Old Spot, for providing a beautiful venue and a delicious buffet lunch, helping to make the day feel truly special.
What to Expect
As with all Freelance Mum events, Brave, Bold & Bonkers is designed for you and your business. Network with like-minded women, hear inspiring stories, share a food together and participate in engaging sessions that leave you energised and empowered.
Where is it?
The Glos Old Spot is a family-friendly, community-driven pub in Bristol that blends the hip and the wholesome. Rich, warm and welcoming, the space is full of vibrant colour, with iconic graffiti in the beer garden. For the day, the venue will be a private space for event attendees only, creating a beautiful setting to meet, connect, learn, share and celebrate together.
Who Can Attend?
This is a business networking event for women in business. Children are always welcome. All women and children are welcome to this special celebration – this is not a ‘mothers only’ event.
More Than Just a Networking Event
Experience the Freelance Mum community, what it feels to connect with members on a deeper level, get to know members, share food, hear inspiring stories and grow your network in a meaningful way.
What Else?
This special celebration is one part of our rich and wide range of our Freelance Mum events. Freelance Mum has hubs that meet across the UK once a month for netwalks, supported by weekly online Coffee Mornings, Lunch & Learn and Virtual Co-Working. Additional netwalks and a Digital Hub is available to mums in business, across the UK.
