We are not a professional repair service, so please don’t bring us ‘fancy’ repairs like wedding dresses - just drop us a message if you’re not sure.
☕We will also be serving cake and hot drinks to keep you refreshed while you watch and learn.
🧵If you are unsure on whether to bring an item or not - please email [email protected] and we will run it by our sewing stars to see what we can do.
💸 This is a FREE service! Donations are welcome but not expected.
💚 We'd love it if you could stay whilst we repair your items, our cafes are about building community connection and sharing skills too.

🙋 VOLUNTEER WITH US 🙋
We are always on the lookout for a few more volunteers, either to share their mending skills at the Cafes or to help out behind the scenes and welcome people on the day. You don’t need to be a professional seamstress or upholsterer or mechanic to volunteer - just someone with some basic skills who is happy to share what they know. There is no pressure to undertake any repairs that you are not confident with.
Please get in touch on [email protected] if you would like to get involved.
🙏THANKS AND FUTURE PLANS🙏
Our Braunton Repair Cafe is a partnership project, part of Plastic Free North Devon’s expanding Repair Cafe network. This year we welcome new and old partners; The Braunton Community Mens Shed will be opening up alongside us later in the year (fingers crossed for the June cafe), Museum of British Surfing continues to donate their community space for free, 51 Degrees North Coffee Company are keeping us supplied with coffee and our local U3A craft group lead continues to help us keep the cafe going - (thanks Sue), All with the support of volunteers from the local community, including seamstresess from local Afghan resettlement scheme, supported by The Pickwell Foundation.
Thanks to funding from the People's Postcode Lottery and The Naturesave Trust funding and previous funding from National Lottery Together For Our Planet Community we have been able to continue to grow and support our network of repair cafes with the support of our local communities. We currently have repair cafes in Braunton, Landkey, South Molton, Ilfracombe, and Barnstaple.
