Brain Stimulation Subspecialty Summit (BraSSS)

We are pleased to invite you to the 3rd Brain Stimulation Subspecialty Summit.

The goal of this year's meeting will be to create a network across the inaugural accredited subspecialty fellowship programs, help different programs understand each other, and build a framework for subspecialty training that spans brain stimulation components of interventional psychiatry, movement disorders, epilepsy, functional neurosurgery, and other areas.

Info: President's update on the progress of Brain Stimulation as a subspecialty, including an overview of how to launch a new brain stimulation fellowship

Info: The past, present, and future of brain stimulation. This lecture is in memory of the life and work of Dr. Nolan R. Williams, co-President of the Society, who tragically passed away in October 2025.

Info: 14 brain stimulation fellowships, from across the US and Canada, will be part of the initial group of accredited programs. The afternoon sessions will include 15-minute descriptions of a sample of these programs.

Info: The goal of Day 2 will be to establish a detailed content outline for each specific content area. Breakout groups will include: Movement disorders; Epilepsy; Interventional psychiatry (TMS); Interventional psychiatry (all other modalities, including ECT and DBS); Emerging and non-FDA approved treatments and protocols

Info: Breakout groups will establish core topics that should be covered in the educational program for each content area.

Info: Breakout groups will establish existing training materials that can adequately cover the topics identified during Block 1, and will also identify which topics still need new materials to be developed.
