The Brain and Body Coalition in Partnership with the Frances Lehman Loeb Art Center at Vassar College invite youth in zip codes 12601 and 12603 to participate in a free art based program that is designed to promote wellness and healing.
Brain-Body-Art
This program combines art appreciation, mindfulness, discussion, and hands-on activities with connections to local mental health and community resources.
Art Exploration and Appreciation - Engage with a variety of artworks, learn about what motivated the artist to create, and discover how we can make personal connections with these works today.
Emotional Expression and Mindfulness - Learn how art can be used as a tool for emotional healing and mindfulness, learn ways to manage your own stress and emotions.
Open conversations - Have open conversations with individuals you can relate to, connect with peers, therapists, and local leaders. Discuss topics that may impact personal trauma and healing.
Practical Coping Skills - Equip yourself with a coping skill toolkit and self care regimen. Build a supply kit to take home and put to practical use.
