course of FREE sewing workshops at Bradford Industrial Museum’s “Heritage Craft Room”To celebrate National Craft Month, Bradford District Museums and Galleries have worked with artist Helen Hill to offer a series of sewing workshops that will explore the history and heritage of Bradford’s industrial past, as well as teaching sewing and pattern reading skills. Choosing one of 4 designs, create your own modern, embellished interpretation of a mill workers apron.
The course includes expert tuition and all materials.
Course dates:
Saturday 28th Feb, 11-2pm (3hrs)
Introduction to pattern reading and Bradford’s textile history, sewing machine basics, cutting and preparing fabric
Saturday 7th March, 11-2pm (3hrs)
Core sewing techniques and construction
Saturday 14th March (Week off)
Time to plan & source your embellishments
Saturday 21st March 11-4pm (5hrs)
Finish construction & start embellishments, finishing techniques, tweaks to final outfit.

Up to 12 places available, 6 sewing machines available to use. If you have a machine of your own please bring it and indicate on the booking.

Places are limited, if you book and then cannot attend, please let us know as we will hold a waiting list for the course.
