Cllr Georgia Pickering, cabinet member for housing, community safety and communication, and armed forces community champion, said: “As a nation we ask a lot from our military personnel and their families, this is a chance to raise public understanding and awareness of the vital role they play in protecting our way of life. It is also a fantastic opportunity to bring Bracknell Forest together for a community celebration to show our gratitude.”
Cllr Simon Carter, armed forces champion, Bracknell Town Council, said: “Bracknell Town Council is proud to sponsor Bracknell Forest Armed Forces Day 2026. Our Armed Forces community, service personnel, veterans, and their families play a vital role in protecting our freedoms and supporting our nation in times of need.
“By backing this event, we’re honouring their commitment, recognising their sacrifices, and bringing our community together to show our gratitude. Armed Forces Day is an important reminder of the strength, resilience, and service that underpin our country, and we are delighted to stand alongside our partners in supporting it.”
Tom Henderson, centre director at The Lexicon, said: “We are delighted to sponsor and host Armed Forces Day at The Lexicon in support of Bracknell Forest Council. The free event will give people of all ages a chance to honour those who serve or have served within the armed forces in a fun and inclusive environment.
“We encourage everyone to come along, enjoy the entertainment, and take part in showing support for the armed forces community across Bracknell Forest.”
Additional support to bring this event has been provided by Abri Community Investment Fund, Winkfield Parish Council and The Bracknell Forest Cambium Partnership. The event has also been made possible thanks to the Armed Forces Day Grant Fund.

Why we are holding the event on 20 June ?
We are holding the Bracknell Forest Armed Forces Day event on Saturday, 20 June, ahead of the national Armed Forces Day on 27 June, due to the national celebrations taking place in Aldershot on that date.
Many military units, charities, support organisations, and community partners will already be committed to the national event. By holding our event on an alternative date, we can ensure maximum participation from armed forces representatives, support organisations and stallholders, avoiding a clash that would limit availability and reduce the scale and impact of the event.
This approach allows Bracknell Forest’s armed forces event to be a well‑supported, inclusive and high‑quality celebration, giving residents the best possible opportunity to engage with and show their support for the armed forces community.
