About this Event
Brackenridge Park - City Nature Challenge - ID Walk
Meeting Spot: Joske Pavilion
Date & Time: 4/25/2025 1:00pm-3:00pm
Join Jane Weeden for a walk in this favorite San Antonio Park! We will begin by introducing participants to the basics of using iNaturalist to identify and document plants, birds, insects and other critters. We will then walk along park trails for about a mile as we identify and document as many native species as we can!
* Please download iNaturalist on your phone and create a user profile before arriving.
* The Joske Pavilion is on Brackenridge Drive on the east side of the Zoo.
* Park in the nearby parking areas and then meet at the pavilion.
* Please wear closed-toed shoes and dress for the weather.
* This is a good activity for adults and older children.
* Please leave your pets at home.
* Easy to moderate hiking.
This nature walk is part of the City Nature Challenge (CNC). From April 25 to April 28 Texas Master Naturalists, San Antonio Natural Areas, Phil Hardberger Park Conservancy, TPWD will participate in a fun challenge to see which city can document the most plant and animal species. It's easy to participate by joining an event or making observations on your own using iNaturalist!
