How about just a casual get together and braai? The last one we had at Battle Hill was so nice and we met so many new people. Noting that this is weather dependent with a rain check date of the 23rd of March... Currently there is a fire ban but I have confirmed with the ranger that we can braai with charcoal on our own braais/webers.Where:
We have secured "The Dell" area for semi-exclusive use at Battle Hill. This means a large section of grass with trees, toilets and the river close by for the kids to play in and see the eels and we can braai in webers, etc. The bigger kids that want to go and swim in the hole can take a walk there. Unfortunately, there are no concrete slabs that we can make fires on so you will need to bring a braai with.
What to bring?
Well, this is not a catered place so you will need to bring the following:
Gazebo
Chairs and/or blankets
Braai and charcoal/wood i.e. weber, etc 😉
There are gas braais as well but you will need to share it with the rest of the people / campers.)
Meat, drinks, salad and water/ drinks (to drink and to K*ll your fire with)
Balls, bats, etc for the kids to play (If someone is keen on arranging games for the day, we would appreciate it!)
There is no cost to us getting semi exclusive use of the area. However, if you want to extend the night and camp, you will need to pay for that.
Please note that this is a working farm area and unfortunately no dogs are allowed AT ALL.
Also note that the gates are locked at 8pm so if you are not camping, please keep this in mind so you can get out in time.
This is an open invitation so no need to RSVP to me but it would be nice to have an indication on how many people will attend by confirming on the event "Going" or "Interested".
I hope to see LOTS of you there!
