Aims
The aim of this course is to provide experienced plumbing and heating engineers with the practical and theoretical knowledge required to effectively install a Solar Domestic Hot Water (SDHW) heating system and to assist in MCS accreditation.
Client Group
Qualified or experienced domestic heating engineers and plumbers, with an unvented hot water qualification.
Award
On successful completion, candidates gain a BPEC certificate. Full MCS accreditation will still require the inspection of an initial installation.
Course Content
The programme covers all the information needed to choose, install and maintain solar domestic hot water heating systems including:
Comparison of different types of solar collectors
Solar collector installation and plumbing requirements
Commissioning solar thermal systems
Maintenance and fault finding
Health and Safety
To ensure Bpec Certification complies with its Awarding Body Agreement, centres must verify the likeness of candidates who are undertaking assessments. This means that ALL candidates must have their likeness checked and recorded by one of the following:
A current, valid passport
A current, valid driving licence (photo ID type)
A photo ID card issued by the UK Border Agency
Other photo ID issued by any other Government Agency
2 passport photographs will be required and these can be submitted on attendance of the course.
