BP Academy Land Nav Course with Aron Snyder
This course is built to give you real confidence in the field using a map and compass—no guesswork. We’ll cover everything from compass and map basics to understanding terrain, contour lines, and magnetic declination, then move into UTM grids, plotting points, and navigating with azimuths and resection.
From there, we tie it all into practical use—route planning, terrain association, and real-world navigation scenarios. We also dive into hunting-specific applications, like stalking with a compass and navigating efficiently in the backcountry.
You’ll get hands-on reps throughout the course, plus exposure to digital tools like Garmin, onX, and Spartan Forge. By the end, you’ll be able to confidently figure out where you are, find any point on a map, and plan a route from anywhere to anywhere.
