Martin Gilmore is a Colorado-based songwriter, performer, and educator whose original songs are influenced by folk, bluegrass, and American roots music. Often described as a songwriter of the American West, his writing explores history, community, memory, and the lives of ordinary people through vivid storytelling, memorable melodies, and acoustic musicianship.Winner of the Telluride Troubadour Songwriting Competition, the Rocky Mountain Folks Festival Songwriter Showcase, and Kerrville New Folk, Gilmore has performed in concert halls, listening rooms, festivals, schools, and house concerts across the United States. His songs have been featured by the Colorado Symphony and recorded on several acclaimed independent releases.
