About this Event
'Boys Impact in Art’ is our new programme for secondary art teachers to explore and research approaches to improving the engagement and achievement of boys in art. It is running in five secondary schools in Wolverhampton, Sandwell and Dudley, applying research from the national Boys Impact movement and building on our prior work in this theme.
We are opening up our 'Boys Impact Art' CPD workshops to those outside of the programme so that we can share learning and expertise and grow a network of art educators who are keen to lead change in their classrooms that supports boys and young men to thrive. This learning can also be extended to all children and young people, with the aim of developing a positive and supportive creative eco-system in all schools.
Who are they for?
The workshops are free and open to primary, secondary, FE and HE teachers of art.
What can I expect on the day?
1) Brief introduction to the Boys Impact national movement and local art projects.
2) Tours of contemporary exhibitions Break the Mould and UPRIGHT.
3) Practical art making sessions inspired by the exhibitions.
4) Time to share ideas and connect with local art teachers.
Who can I contact for more information about the programme?
