Bowl of Chalk / Up Against Time - Walk 5

Walk 5 in the ‘Up Against Time Appeal', raising money for London’s Air Ambulance charity to replace their two helicopters begins in Covent Garden, heading through to Trafalgar Square. From there, we’ll move through to Embankment and finish at Temple Station. Loads on this walk, including Covent Garden’s history from a garden belonging to a convent via a fruit and veg market to the current West End tourist hotspot. We’ll discuss some of Trafalgar Square’s lesser known facts, pass Benjamin Franklin’s House and discuss the river Thames and the Great Stink of 1858 …amongst other things.
