About this Event
BOSTON CHAMBER SYMPHONY
Avlana Eisenberg, conductor | Seth Morris, flute
Join the Boston Chamber Symphony for an evening of masterworks by Brahms, Sibelius, Reinecke, and Mendelssohn. Acclaimed flutist Seth Morris, Principal Flute of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, performs Reinecke’s lyrical Flute Concerto, a Romantic-era work of expressive warmth and virtuosic flair.
The program also includes Mendelssohn’s radiant Symphony No. 4 ("Italian"), inspired by the composer’s travels, alongside two beloved orchestral dances: Brahms’s spirited Hungarian Dance No. 1 and Sibelius’s haunting Valse Triste.
Music Director Avlana Eisenberg will conduct, and a reception with the performers will follow the concert.
