Coming out of Coffs northern Beaches is BOSS STOMP, an unmistakable thumping rock-roots duo that’s rewriting the rulebook on genre-bending. With their signature blend of slide-guitar blues and alt-rock energy, the Boss offer a fresh sound that’s as original as it is engaging. Organic beats, distorted acoustic riffs, clever hooks and driving if not funky bass lines. Add a wide-ranging tongue-in-cheek vocalist, back-ups and a shared sense of humour, there is enough chemistry and electricity between the two of them to power a small town. Sonically, you could say it’s got comparisons of the Black Keys grit, a dash of Chilli Pepper funk, blended with a heaping dose of raw open-tuned swamp-stomp blues that’s leaning into to a mix of John Lee Hooker and Ash Grunwald. Mostly, it sounds like BOSS STOMP. Head-nodding, toe-tapping, a “never heard of em’ but I love it..” type of band with taste, style and an unmissable authenticity..
