Borwick Hall is located in Carnforth, Lancashire, and is surrounded by acres of land. This stunning sixteenth-century manor house features sections dating back to the 14th century. Upon entering, visitors often report a feeling of being watched, as if they are not alone. The hall has strong connections to the former Rectory, which is less than a 5-minute drive away.During our first visit, we witnessed strange occurrences, including a female moan and cries coming from an empty room on both the third and second floors. We experienced drastic temperature changes and an overwhelming sensation of being watched. Dark, ghostly shadows have been reported drifting through the eerie corridor on the third floor, which the staff have named. Unseen forces have also been known to slam doors shut, and some staff members have heard distant voices chatting when only one person was on-site.
On one occasion, two teenagers in the main hall fled the building after encountering what they described as a male apparition, refusing to return. They reported that he stood, turned, and looked straight through them. Many staff members believe this could have been John Alexander Fuller Maitland, who died in 1936 at Borwick Hall.
