Boracay Platinum International Open Water Swim Race 2026: Celebrating Aklan’s 70th Anniversary with World-Class Open Water Swimming Boracay Island, Malay, Aklan – January 2026 – In a landmark collaboration to mark the 70th Anniversary of Aklan Province, the Provincial Government of Aklan, led by Governor Jose Enrique M. Miraflores and Provincial Assessor Kokoy B. Soguilon, together with Liquid Events, proudly presents the Boracay Platinum International Open Water Swim Race on March 7–8, 2026. Spearheaded by Race Director Coach Vince Garcia, a veteran in Philippine multi sports with over a decade of experience supporting national events like Palarong Pambansa and Batang Pinoy, this premier event will feature elite 5K and 10K Open Water Swim races, alongside a dedicated Beginners Day including Aquathlon and shorter Open Water distances. The races will take place at the iconic White Beach, Station 1, Boracay Island — one of the world’s most beautiful beach settings. “This event is more than a race — it’s a celebration of Aklan’s 70 years of progress, resilience, and natural beauty,” said Governor Jose Enrique M. Miraflores. “By partnering with Liquid Events and Coach Vince Garcia, we aim to showcase our province to the world while promoting health, tourism, and community spirit.”
The Boracay Platinum Open Water Swim Race is designed to be the safest open water event in Asia, featuring: Comprehensive safety measures with support from the Philippine Coast Guard (including deep-water buoys, current data, and on-site first responders) WOWSA (World Open Water Swimming Association) sanctioning for global recognition and rankings Tiered registration phases with a=ordable early-bird rates starting at ₱1,300–₱5,900 (depending on distance and category) Family-friendly options including kids and beginner divisions Provincial Assessor Kokoy B. Soguilon emphasized the economic and tourism impact: “We expect hundreds of local and international participants, plus their families and supporters, to boost our local economy through accommodations, dining, and related activities during peak season.”
