Whether you’re growing a side hustle, launching something new, or levelling up an established business, the Boost Your Business Series is back for 2026.
This free, in-person workshop series is designed to support our Pasifika and wider business community with practical tools, real insights, and meaningful connections to help you move forward with confidence.
Across four sessions, you’ll hear from industry experts and experienced business leaders covering key topics to help you build, strengthen, and future-proof your business.
Session One: Building Your Workforce - Wednesday, 6 May
with the Ministry of Social Development (MSD)
Looking to grow your team, strengthen your workforce, or better understand what support is available to you as an employer?
MSD will walk you through the practical tools, funding, and services available to help you recruit, train, and retain staff, while reducing costs and building a sustainable workforce.
Come and learn all about what support services are available to you.
What you’ll learn:
– How to access local talent across Wellington, Hutt Valley, Porirua, and Kāpiti
– How the Flexi-wage subsidy can help reduce the cost of hiring and training staff
– Ways to support on-the-job training and upskilling for your employees
– How Mana in Mahi can help you train staff toward qualifications while receiving financial support
– Access to MSD-funded pre-employment training and work readiness programmes
– Support available if your business is going through change, downsizing, or closure, including redeployment services
Whether you’re hiring your first employee or expanding your team, this session will give you clarity and practical support options you can use straight away.
