About this Event
Join us for an evening of fun and embroidery! Author and crafter Anna Hultin will showcase her new book, The Stitched Landscape, and then teach you how to embroider your own from one of the projects in the book.
Each ticket includes a hardcover copy of The Stitched Landscape and a complete DIY kit with all the supplies needed to embroider one of the projects from the book.
About the book
Think of this new embroidery book as an invitation to nature journaling, just with a needle and thread, instead of pen and paper. Artist Anna Hultin offers step-by-step instructions to embroider plants, flowers and trees using a few basic stitches, then invites crafters to compose an original scene with these elements based on their own nature observations. While botanical embroidery is a trending craft of the moment, there are few books dedicated to the topic from a major press.
"Anyone interested in expanding their stitch practice while also feeling more connected to the ecologies in the world around us will love this book!" —Christi Johnson, author of The Art of Embroidery Design and Mystical Stitches
About the Author
Anna Hultin is the artist and educator behind Olander CO Embroidery. Hultin uses needle and thread to create contemporary embroideries that explore the often overlooked beauty of the subtle textures and colors of the Colorado landscape. She lives with her family in Loveland, Colorado.
If you are unable to attend the event after purchasing a ticket, The Bookies will hold your book and DIY kit for 7 days after the event date. If the book and kit are not picked up within 7 days, you relinquish your copy to The Bookies.
