About this Event
Calling all avid readers! Get ready for an unforgettable afternoon as acclaimed author Fran Littlewood takes centre stage at the Bookface Sip & Swap event, set to captivate audiences at August House in Glasgow on Saturday 29th June from 1.30-4.30pm.
Sipping, swapping, and storytelling are on the agenda with complimentary drinks and the ultimate book lover's delight: the infamous Bookface book swap. With a curated collection of over 200 captivating titles, attendees will have the opportunity to indulge their literary cravings while mingling with fellow book lovers.
The highlight of the event promises to be a 45-minute conversation with the talented Fran Littlewood herself. As the mastermind behind the acclaimed novel and New York Times bestseller Amazing Grace Adams, Fran will offer insights into her creative process, inspirations, and the profound themes explored within her debut masterpiece.
The bestseller lists have recently played host to some fabulously flawed and self-sabotaging midlife heroines and Amazing Grace Adams is more than just an entertaining novel; it's a profound exploration of womanhood, motherhood, marriage, and the intricacies of aging today.
With her background as a former journalist with The Times and an MA in Creative Writing from Royal Holloway, University of London, Fran Littlewood brings a unique perspective to the table.
TV rights have also been optioned by The Mare of Easttown producer. Fran said, "They’re working on the pilot, and I think Kate Winslet’s working on a second episode so you never know. I’m busy writing the second book now and I’m excited to be coming to Glasgow for this special event!”
