Booked Till August - An adult Book Club for Parents & Guardians!
At 18 August Ave, we’re all about empowering the lived experiences of families through stories, resources, and meaningful events. That’s why we created Booked Till August, a book club designed to help parents and guardians unwind, connect, and indulge in thought-provoking stories.
Each meet-up will be a themed experience, complete with:
? A curated playlist to set the mood for the book.
? Deep discussions that tie the book’s themes to our own lived experiences.
? Special surprises like movie adaptations, guest speakers, or interactive activities.
Our meet-up will be every other month on Thursdays at 6pm from February to August. As we know parents have busy schedules and lives.
February's Pick
For Black History Month, We’re kicking off with Zora Neale Hurston’s Their Eyes Were Watching God for our February Booked Till August pick, featuring a live discussion about the book and comparison to the 2005 movie adaption. Together, we’ll explore themes of love, resilience, and identity in a space designed just for you.
