Book Launch: Violaine Huisman presents The Monuments of Paris
In conversation with John Burnham Schwartz
Wine reception to follow
Internationally acclaimed New York author and beloved friend of Greenlight Violaine Huisman (The Book of Mother) returns to the bookstore to launch her latest novel: The Monuments of Paris! A Most Anticipated Book of 2026 by Literary Hub, The Monuments of Paris is a remarkable work of autofiction, about a Frenchwoman’s efforts to come to terms with the legacy of her father and grandfather—powerful forces who left a mark on their country’s culture but whose incorrigible womanizing also left a complex mark on their wives and children. In prose as elegant as it is precise, The Monuments of Paris draws a haunting portrait of twentieth-century France through the outsized ambitions, infidelities, and tragedies of the author’s own family, both real and imagined. Novelist and editor John Burnham Schwartz (Reservation Road) joins Huisman for a reading and discussion, before an audience Q&A and signing.
