About this Event
Book Launch and Neighbourhood Social: Reproduction: Death, Birth and The Turkey Baster Method
Part book launch, part gallery show, part neighbourhood social- this is an evening not to be missed!
The King East Neighbourhood Association is pleased to invite you to an in-person reading and fireside chat celebrating the release of Ellie Anglinโs new book "Reproduction: Death, Birth and The Turkey Baster Method". Through humour and honesty, Ellie explores the realities of reproduction and queer family planning, from deeply challenging moments to the quirky turkey baster method.
The event features a live reading by Ellie, a fireside chat with local birthworker Anna Balagtas, audience Q&A, video projection art and stills from Ellieโs visual memoir, and time to meet your neighbours. Refreshments provided.
About the book: Reproduction: Death, Birth and The Turkey Baster Method is a forthcoming graphic memoir and how-to-guide by Ellie Anglin. It details Ellie's journey with her wife navigating the fertility industry, through the death of both her parents, to finally creating their dream baby through a combination of the time-honoured lesbian magic of at-home insemination. The book will be 140 full colour pages of creative non-fiction illustrated with her signature style that combines collage, drawings and hand lettering. Reproduction will be published by PS Guelph.
