About this Event
Peter Lynch, Fragments and Coherence: Essays and Works of Architecture is an inquiry into one way of composing works of architecture, literature, art, and music: “holding together.” Certain architects, poets, painters, and composers gather forms, marks, characters, words, or phrases, the way a bowerbird collects bright objects; probe their relationships, as a detective considers bits of evidence; and compose them according to their qualities, as a chef prepares a banquet. Being a bowerbird, a detective, and a chef: this is the mind of holding together.
The book presents twenty held-together works from Peter Lynch’s architecture practice, ranging from highly detailed structures to urban planning proposals, and his essays analyse key examples of held-together works of architecture, literature, art, and music.
We are delighted to welcome Peter Lynch and Yael Hameiri Sainsaux and their guests to the Architectural Association Bookshop to celebrate the launch of this new publication.
