The National Centre for Reconciliation, Truth, and Justice is absolutely delighted to invite you to The book launch of Professor Bindi Bennett and Professor Kelly Menzel.


This book Privileges Australian Aboriginal perspectives in research.

Makes an important contribution to de-Westernising research.

Models how Western and Indigenous research can work together.


Professor Bindi Bennett is a K/Gamilaroi woman, mother, and social worker. Prof Bennett’s primary research interests are in the following areas: social justice; transformational change; growing cultural responsiveness; re-Indigenising Western spaces and curriculum; human social and emotional wellbeing; exploring Indigenous Knowledge Systems in research; and exploring the human-animal bond; natural disasters.

Professor Kelly Menzel is a proud Ngadjuri woman from mid north South Australia with ancestral connections to Bundjalung Nation. She is a nurse by trade and has worked in higher education and research for 20 years. Her research area of expertise is radically challenging race-based violence in institutions, Indigenous Knowledge Systems, Indigenous Pedagogy and methodology, Aboriginal women in leadership and seeking socially just, transformational change.
