Book Launch for Bruno Leipold's 'Citizen Marx'
Bruno Leipold's book Citizen Marx: Republicanism and the Formation of Karl Marx's Social and Political Thought (Princeton University Press, 2024), is the first study to comprehensively examine Marx's debt to republicanism, arguing that it is essential to understanding his thought. In this book launch, chaired by Anne Phillips (LSE), Bruno will reflect on writing the book, followed by comments from Terrell Carver (Bristol), Lea Ypi (LSE) and Stuart White (Oxford) on the book's contribution to our understanding of Marx, republicanism and socialist politics. The discussion will be followed by a reception.
